Old Glory's Big Man was a chestnut stallion foaled 1945. His sire was Old Glory Merry Boy, and his dam was Nell Mayberry (Forgey's Brown Hal). In 1947, Old Glory's Big Man was Reserve in Two-Year Old Stallions; 1948 World's Champion Junior Horse; 1949 Reserve World's Grand Champion; 1949 Grand Champion Baton Rouge, La. In 1950, he was named World's Grand Champion TWH at The Celebration in Shelbyville. He was owned by Mr & Mrs. J.T. Budd, Jr., Florida Queen Cigars,  of Quincy, Florida and trained by Carl Edwards.
