When we bred Fame’s Pushy Lady (BJ) to Remembrance's Merry Snip, we were praying for a black filly to keep in BJ's place. Our prayers were answered with Naomi.* Her dam, Fame’s Pushy Lady is affectionately known as “BJ” around the farm. We first met BJ in 1999 while visiting another horse in training at Joe London Training Stables. She was a supremely talented mare whose short but brilliant show career was cut short due to a leg injury involving a fence that left her with a severed tendon. The injury forced her show career to a halt and left her unable to be ridden. Even with her injury, when Joe allowed me to ride BJ for a few passes around the riding ring she absolutely blew me away. She is one of the best natural walking horses I’ve ever ridden, injury and all. I can only imagine what she might’ve done in the show ring if the injury hadn’t sidelined her. When BJ moves, you feel like you are walking with purpose. Her powerful natural rhythm echoes through your body, but in a good way. It’s like feeling the rhythm of music. Joe chose BJ as a youngster. From the moment he laid eyes on her, he felt she was destined for greatness. She came out of the womb walking and shaking on a level that usually takes years to reach. Everyone who knew BJ will tell you that she is one of the most natural, talented horses out there. When she was first put under saddle, she just went right into walking and shaking. Everything with BJ was just…easy! She was easy to work with and just so naturally talented. She loved trail riding and showing and walked a show level gait no matter if it was a dirt road or a mountain path. Although she is a high caliber show mare we expect her foals to do well in any venue --- just like BJ! Her sire, Remembrance's Merry Snip, is one of the last closest living links to both Midnight Sun and Merry Boy, with other great horses (Wilson's Allen, Roan Allen, the great mare Merry Legs, Go Boy's Nite Storm, Ebony Masterpiece, Society Man and an incridibly strong dam line through the Ray Corum breeding program, including Midnight Peggie P, Stormy's Ebony Doll and Ebony' Co-Ed.) Check out her facebook album for more photos. On 5/19/2023 she welcomed her first foal, a bay colt by Golden Gambler.
